The Alzheimer Society of Calgary is pleased to host a one day workshop – The Dementia DOME (Dementia Opportunities Mindfulness Education). This is a hands-on workshop for trying practical strategies to improve and support the experience of caregiving.
This workshop provides a dynamic, interactive opportunity to learn with the goal of empowering you to care for a person with dementia. It's focused on creating a strong understanding of the dementia continuum, providing skills and strategies for interacting and communicating with a person with dementia, and understanding the resources available to help you. The workshop will deepen your knowledge and skills, enabling you to continue to have a meaningful relationship with the person living with dementia.

The session will be facilitated by:
Loralee Fox is a Master’s prepared Registered Nurse with a specialty focus on care of older adults. She has received certification from the Canadian Nursing Association in the area of Gerontology and is a Certified PAC Trainer for Teepa Snow.
Kimberly Shapkin, a Master’s prepared Registered Nurse and a Nurse Practitioner with a focus on caring for the older adult. Kimberly is certified with the Canadian Nurses Association in Gerontology and a Designated Capacity Assessor.
