Without advanced dementia-specific training, it can be extremely challenging for healthcare professionals to work with people living with dementia. In addition to creating significant changes in behaviour and personality, dementia affects a person’s thinking, judgment, communication skills and ability to function independently.

Best Friends™ Approach is our flagship training program designed to enhance the capacity and skills of healthcare workers to provide quality care to persons living with dementia. We are a proud proponent and exclusive licensee of the Best FriendsTM Approach in Alberta.  

This is a well-recognized, person-centered approach based on the Best Friends philosophy of care. It was developed by David Troxel & Virginia Bell and is widely practised in Canada, U.K., U.S.A. and Australia.
