Health and housing are closely connected. Understanding the range of housing options available and knowing when they may be appropriate is an important part of supporting health, independence, and aging well. This presentation will also explore income-tested housing and market housing options.
Our expert will be Cathy Hume, President, Calgary Seniors Housing Forum Society
With passion as a senior level executive, over the last 30+ years, Cathy has successfully been creating positive and rewarding experiences within the senior housing and healthcare sector. She received the 2023 Province of Alberta, Ministry of Seniors, Community and Social Services, Individual Award for her service to seniors. This elite level accomplishment was awarded to her to recognize her passionate volunteer work for vulnerable people in the province of Alberta. Her contributions have had a lasting effect on the healthcare sector and have inspired others to also have a strong commitment to making a difference in their community. She has in many capacities advocated for vulnerable older adults and worked with many organizations to focus on quality and safety while providing their services with compassion, respect, and dignity for everyone.
