A two-session program for people recently diagnosed with dementia and their care partners to learn, plan and connect together.

Receiving a diagnosis of dementia can bring many questions about what to expect and what steps to take next. The Newly Diagnosed Program provides clear information, practical strategies and guidance for people living with dementia and their care partners as they begin navigating this new chapter together.

This four-hour program is delivered through two sessions, with each session taking place over two hours in two different weeks.

During the program, participants will explore:

• Understanding dementia and addressing common myths
• Maintaining independence while accepting assistance
• Practical strategies for daily living and safety
• Planning for future legal, medical and care needs
• Building and strengthening a circle of support

The program includes interactive learning, group discussions and opportunities to ask questions in a respectful and welcoming environment.

This program is intended for people who have received a dementia diagnosis within the past 12-18 months and the care partners actively supporting them. People living with dementia and their care partners attend together.

Participants must be able to attend both sessions.

Care partners only need to complete one registration. The person living with dementia attending with you does not need to be registered separately.
