About Dr Jed Shimizu

Dr. Jed Shimizu is a Care of the Elderly physician currently practicing in Calgary. His practice includes primary care at various continuing care sites and at the C3 seniors’ day program. He also provides primary care to home-bound older adults through the Seniors Home Based Primary Care team, as well as consultative work through the Home Care Geriatric Consult Team. Dr. Shimizu also serves as the Chief Medical Director at the Brenda Strafford Foundation.

Dr. Shimizu completed his medical training at the University of British Columbia and his Family Medicine and Care of the Elderly training at the University of Alberta. He spent his first five years of practice working in both inpatient and outpatient geriatrics in Edmonton. He also helped develop the Misericordia Community Hospital Emergency Department’s Geriatric Evaluation and Management service.
