Meet Harold And Kim
Despite the diagnosis, Harold and Kim found ways to maintain qualities of life.
Share in this heartwarming story about a local Calgary couple facing young onset dementia. Caregiver Kim and her husband Harold shared the unexpected gifts they've received as a result of Harold's condition, the importance of staying positive and learning how to cope with changes in their daily lives. They maintained a close connection, remained deeply in love after many years of marriage and have become a true inspiration for the local community.
The couple also had also referenced Club 36, an Adult Day Program (respite program) provided by the Alzheimer Society of Calgary, in conjunction with a host of other support services and learning opportunities available.
If you or your family have been impacted by Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias, rest assured you are not alone. Harold was one of more than 13,000 local people living with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias in Calgary and surrounding areas.
We are grateful to Kim and Harold for sharing their story.
