Find Support & Education
I don't know what I'd do without Club 36! It really gives me the break I need to be able to keep him at home a little longer.
As a first step towards acceptance of the changes in my husband [after his diagnosis] I made a phone call to the Alzheimer’s Society of Calgary to sign up for a course. After explaining my intent, and before anything else was said, the person on the other end of the phone asked, “How are you doing?” So unexpected, so sincere, so compassionate, so moving. We chatted for a long time.
Request an appointment with a registered social worker
The Alzheimer Society of Calgary invites you to schedule a support meeting and connect with one of our registered social workers. This is an opportunity to speak openly about your experience as a caregiver or your journey of impact. Regardless of whether you prefer a single meeting or repeat follow ups, we’re here to provide an ear, a shoulder, some helpful tips and access to additional resources.
Our registered social workers provide free confidential consultation for individuals and families seeking support, information and referral to dementia-related community resources at any stage of the disease process.
Support may also incude opportunities for training, workshops, resources and support groups in Calgary and surrounding areas.

I expected a few brochures - and I left the office with hope.
