Music At Club 36
Music has the unique ability to transport us and capture special moments in time.
When that song comes on, you know the feeling … you’re transported. You can hear the swish of your dress on your wedding day. Your mind flashes back to that all-time favourite school dance. And you turn up the volume and smile as you’re reminded of the road trip you took with your best friend, singing at the top of your lungs.
Music is a powerful medium that has a tremendous impact on our lives and, particularly, for people living with dementia. The Alzheimer Society of Calgary is thrilled to feature music at the Club 36 Adult Day program.
We create personalized playlists for our members.
Music is as personal as it is powerful.
Research shows that music can help stimulate memories for people living with dementia. The program enables our members to reconnect with their world through music-triggered memories.
Whether it’s jazz, swing, country, R&B, cultural music, classical opera or rock and roll, it doesn’t matter to us. It’s only matters that it moves our members.
We provide personalized music at Club 36.
Music & Memory Program®
Our Alzheimer Society of Calgary team has completed training with our community partners from Music & Memory® (a non-profit organization). We now have our own adapted Music & Memory® program in place at Club 36.
